DIY: Will You Be My Bridesmaid? Accordion Booklet Download
2016 UPDATE: Due to a large amount of inquiries about the accordion fold booklets, you can now download a free inDesign template to recreate your own!
Taking on a the role of being a bridesmaid is a huge responsibility so it's not a question to ask lightly. And it was no surprise who I would ask to stand beside me on my wedding day… but I wanted the experience of official being asked to be as special for them as they each are to me. I wanted my closest family and friends to know from day one how much I appreciated them taking on the role and how much they had meant to me in all of the years leading up to this day. And because we are going to be spending a lot of time together during the whole wedding process… showers, bachelorette parties, rehearsals… I want all of them to know a little about how each bridesmaid had been such an important part of my life.
I mailed the celebration to each of them since they live in different cities and I couldn't ask in person. A special package arrived at their front door containing a letter written to each explaining how much I truly loved them, a personalized blush wooden box with their name in gold, an accordion booklet I designed that told the story behind each friendship and all of the details of the upcoming wedding, and a mini fiesta in a box.
The accordion booklet contains stories of each bridesmaid as well as information about the day-of events, our blush color palette for dresses, and what types of gowns they can pick for their bridesmaid dress since they all get to pick their own dress. For the color palette—shades of blush—I cut fabric circles that were tucked in a pocket in the book like a cluster of confetti.
