Year One in The Vacasa!
Okay, seriously?! Its been 6 months since my last post?! I feel like I just blinked and spring was already over and summer was suddenly hanging on for dear life! Celebrating Labor Day's unofficial end of summer yesterday brought us to today's very exciting celebration—the 1 year anniversary of moving into our first home, which we loving call The Vacasa (The Vaca Casa)!
Yesterday was the perfect day for enjoying my favorite project we've finished at The Vacasa so far. After summer weekends of re-staining the deck, building a slatted fence around the AC units, and painting new and existing walls, we finally finished building out the last slatted wall with huge bar ledge feature. Inspired by our favorite hotel in Mexico, Coqui Coqui, we created our own little piece of Tulum heaven on our rooftop deck by integrating sandy creams, dark rich woods, driftwood grays, and most importantly, a gorgeous Mayan hammock. Although, I will say... our pup, Bananas, could have definitely been our color palette inspiration as well. We didn't intentionally create a deck that she matched perfectly, but she does look right at home in the hammock that she loves so much!
We couldn't be happier and more at home here, and we've been slowly tackling projects around here to make it even more perfect! But it's slow going because we've both been so busy with work and travel the past few months, which is also the reason I haven't posted in so long! SO many exciting things have been happening over at Sugar & Gold over the past 6 months! I've been buuuuussssssyyy!! Busier than I can ever remember (even more so than the year planning my own wedding) with so many exciting collaborations, projects, and trips. I haven't even had a chance to look through all the photos yet, but later this week I'll be sharing some the biggest highlights from the past 6 months!
