Vacasa Rooftop: 1st Anniversary Dinner

While looking forward to what is to come this year, the start of the New Year is always my favorite time to also look back and celebrate everything that happened in the very quick year past. This past year marked two of the most important milestones in our life together... buying our first home and celebrating our first full year of marriage!

It absolutely blows my mind that David and I have already hit a full year of marriage... in so many ways it feels like our wedding day was only a couple of months ago. But this past October, we celebrated our first year anniversary on 10/10, which is also exactly 7 years from our very first kiss! Because we just bought our first home, we felt that a romantic dinner on our private rooftop deck was the best way to celebrate... and it was absolutely perfect. We cooked Bolognese pasta sauce from scratch, broiled a buttered lobster tail, and enjoyed the top of our wedding cake, which was decorated with the glittered 10/10 cake topper from our wedding shower. We cracked opened our anniversary piñata which served as the guest book at our wedding... filled with wonderful notes from our loved ones wishing us a happy first year of marriage.

One of my favorite touches was the custom papel picado I designed and cut out that featured our last name and our wedding date and pattern that strung above our table, which was decorated with the paper flowers we used as centerpieces at our wedding. All of our favorite decor from our wedding truly brought back such meaningful memories of that beautiful and loving day... and it was the perfectly peaceful way to celebrate with the most amazing man I've ever known and been lucky enough to have married.
