Friendsgiving Invitation: Snowglobe Terrarium
My favorite part of the holiday season is hibernating with loved ones surrounded by cozy decor... snowcovered garland, twinkling lights, and faux fur throws. And for this year's Friendsgiving holiday dinner invitation, I wanted to capture that in this terrarium inspired shadowbox style invitation.
My twist on a snowglobe, this DIY terrarium invite was the perfect window into a wintery scene—snow and berry branch details, separated by an interior diagonal. And gold foil typography details feature a clean and simple design, not to distract from the handcrafted features. I built the terrarium container with sheets of acrylic and gold foil tape, and I DIY gold foiled the typography on a transparency sheet for the front panel. This was something that's been in my head for months, and I was so excited to see it come to life for the holiday season... and it was perfect timing in honor of the beautiful blanket of snow that's already covering Chicago. There's nothing better than snow (real and faux) to usher in the holidays!
